The Bursary

 Gordon & Margaret Watson Bursary

Gordon Watson, a founding member of the Ottawa Chapter of the OAS in 1971, passed away July 18, 2007, predeceased by his wife Margaret.

Many of you worked with Gordon and Margaret at the Green Site or the Jennifer Site.  Others have helped process and catalogue artifacts from these sites at their home, seated around a well-protected dining room table.  Gordon received several awards for his considerable contribution to archaeology:  the J. Norman Emerson Silver Medal Award, the Peggi Armstrong Public Archaeology Award, and the Spirit of Trent Award.   All this came after ëretirementí and the completion of an M.A in Anthropology (Archaeology) at Trent University!

In recognition of Gordon and Margaretís dedication to archaeology, their support of the Ottawa Chapter and their inspiration to others, the Ottawa Chapter would like to pay tribute to Gordon and Margaret in the form of a bursary in partnership with Trent University.  For information about the bursary and how to contribute please click here.
