1996 Symposium-A Photo Album

The traditional OAS Symposium Banquet was held at Old Fort Henry. The mid-19th century period feast was preceeded by a tour of the fort under the watchful eye of a Fort Henry Guard. A mottly crew indeed!!

Along with an excellent roast pork, guests of the Fort were treated to a colourful exchange between the Officers of the two Mess, coincidentally both from Vankleek Hill. Things got so bad that a French-Canadian was heard singing a Gaelic tune!!!

The Archaeological Tour of Kingston included a stop at the Cataraqui Foundation where several displays are set-up for groups interested in the region's heritage. Helen Armstrong examines a model of Fort Frontenac, a French-period trading/military establishment in Kingston which was excavated in the 1980's.

Hugh Daechsel acted as tour guide for much of the Archaeological Tour which included stops at several prehistoric and historic sites.

Did I tell you about the size of the Bolton Donuts? (You have to realize that John Steckley, who lives in Bolton, is very proud of his hometown)
